Cathedral to Castle Run – Sunday 9th April 2017

The Cathedral to Castle 10 Mile Multi Terrain Run – or ‘Cathedral to Castle’ as it is affectionately known, is one of the most exciting urban and country road events in the UK. It covers a 10 mile course from Lichfield Cathedral, passing through Hopwas Woods and finishing at Tamworth Castle.

We had several members take part in this event and results as follows

  • Ron Mahoney finished with a great time of 1:04:28 and was 3rd overall.
  • Tim Gould with a time of 1:13:40 and was 1st in his age category
  • Chris Robey with a time of 1:17:46
  • Simon Jarman with a time of 1:33:37
  • Rebecca Buckley with a time of 1:38:49

Run in the Forest  Sunday 9th April

Held over a 5 mile course almost entirely off road and taking in some of the fine scenery the National Forest has to offer. The surface comprises hard packed trails along disused railway lines and canal tow paths with some sections of tarmac.

Martin Hollamby (also a Peeler) finished 3rd overall with a great time of 29:35

A Coventry Way Sunday 9th April

The Cyril Bean 20th Annual “A Coventry Way Challenge” , Walk or run, either solo or in a relay around the 40 mile countryside route around Coventry.

We had one of our members who completed this challenging event in what was a very warm day.

Robin Canning walked the route with his father Richard with a time of 14hrs and 14 mins.
